I've been a practicing screen printer for about 8 years, drawn to the medium for its technical and craft aspects. The more I worked with the medium, the more I found myself interested in how my practice overlapped with my academic training in commercial communication. Therefore, amidst a universe of screens and automated advertisements, with content endlessly scrolling on social media and the like, I seek to uncover why print feels so bold and memorable, and how this work can be practically applied in the contemporary arena. This study allowed me to merge two aspects of my life that have always felt separate: the world of fine art printmaking and the world of advertising, with the goal of understanding how these forms can merge.
