In the past year or so, I’ve started creating rotoscoped animations; the subjects are mostly myself, acting everything out, then creating the animation and doing the voice-over. My reasoning for making these is pure and simple: I have flashing thoughts all the time, no matter what I’m doing. I always think back to the quote from Patty Smith's book, Just Kids, when they describe Robert Mapplethorpe’s creative process. A fluid creative process, like capturing something you rapidly saw in a flash and getting it on paper before it disappears entirely. This could be said about many parts of my creative process, but these are just really raw, uncurated thoughts that I want to explore. The subjects, always me, make it quite an introspective process, and I thoroughly enjoy making them. Although I want them to look somewhat visually appealing, these allow me to create carelessly and really explore my ideas; they also offer a solid opportunity to practice my storytelling skills.

This is my favourite and longest one done so far, but if interested, there are 2 more on my YouTube channel and a few more on my Instagram.
