This edition initially came out of the inspiration of wanting to create abstract camouflages but transformed into something more profound for me during the printing process. Sometimes, it takes me a while to fully realize the intention behind a piece before I can express it to others. After much consideration about what was going on in my life at the time of creating this (a span of about 4 months), I realize this edition represents my anxiety in a way that I have never thought of before. The abstraction of camouflage shows how I don’t want to be seen and want to be hidden under layers of people and keep to myself, but the colours tell a different story. The explosiveness of the colours, the choice of tones, and the size of the canvas represent that I desperately do want to be seen. I want to be able to talk to strangers and peers comfortably. I want to maintain eye contact in nervous conversations with confidence while still remaining anonymous. I want to be able to express my work and intentions without the need for a doubtful preface.  It’s a strange mix of emotions backing this edition, but I love it with all my heart. This is a piece of me.
